I have to write about this because if you’re in network marketing you’ve dealt with this too.  People are indecisive!

This is what I’ve learned though, and it helps.  People are all in different places in their lives.  They’ve got other factors in their lives to deal with outside of getting into your business.  The unfortunate thing is that few people actually realize the potential of network marketing to set them free; financially, emotionally, time wise and in many other areas in their respective lives.  We of course are aware of this but what we need to learn to do is offer the vision to others in a way that is so attractive that they see that getting to a level of success in network marketing that would set them free is worth the price of giving up their comforts and “security” (we know that security doesn’t necessarily come with a job) to pursue said vision.

That’s why we must realize that we are as much motivational visionaries as we are network marketing business owners.  We help peoples indecision not by making decisions for them, but making our business opportunities so attractive it would be hard for anyone to turn us away.

How do you do that?

• Smile and be happy – Life is too short and too blessed not to be.
• Love your business – People will see through this if you’re lying.  If you don’t like your business, get out of it!
• Speak about your business passionately
• Show many, many people your opportunity – It’s really a numbers game.  Many people won’t see the use, but many more will!
• Offer training and help as well as always be available to your team; rain or shine, morning or night, tired or not.

Another point I’d like to make before I close this article out is this:  LISTEN!!! We must put ourselves in our prospects shoes, and we can only do that by listening, making sure we understand why they’re having a hard time deciding to join the group.  We must find a solution to their problem, not ours!  So, listen, and listen intently.  They will tell you through their words what their hang up is, you just have to hear it first, then you can give them a solution that will fit their need and in turn will attract them to your business.

I was reminded today by Justin Taylor, blogger for TheGospelCoalition.org, on his post entitled, “He Was No Fool,” of my favorite quote, probably of all time by Jim Elliot, one of the 5 American missionaries to Ecuador in the 1950s who was martyred 58 years ago just yesterday, January 8th, 2010 (If you ever want to pick up a heart wrenching book, check out “Through Gates of Splendor,” it tells the story of these 5 men and their journey to try to preach the Gospel to the lost souls of Ecuardorians in the jungles of South America.  It was just an incredible story.  If you’re not a reader, watch the movie “The End of the Spear.”  It’s the same story, but you don’t have to read).

Anyway, my favorite quote from Jim Elliot was, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” He was of course speaking of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

You may be asking, how in the world does this relate to my business and my blog?  Well, my short answer, it relates to everything in my life.  If I’m not willing to give my all for my maker and savior, Jesus Christ, then I’m a fool!  That’s what Jesus Christ has done for me, He has saved me from the futility of stuff and possessions and material comforts and worldly pleasures.  Thank the Lord for His provision for my soul, otherwise everything I accomplished in this life would be in vain.  Are we not like a blade of grass that withers and dies in just a short season?  That’s why it matters!  Business success means nothing without my Savior.  You can’t take your stuff with you when you die…

K.I.S.S. – It stands for Keep It Simple Stupid (I’m not calling you stupid, by the way!), because it is stupid to make your business more complex than it needs to be.  It’s not smart to make your marketing and action plan so complex it overwhelms you to a point where you’re too handicapped in your mind to even take action on any of your plans.  So, today, we’re keeping it simple and I’m going to show you my simple three step plan as outlined in the terrific book, Beach Money by Jordan Adler, to network marketing and entrepreneurial success:

1. Find distributors
2. Find customers
3. Teach the distributors how to do what you’re doing

So now, if I get the response from a prospect that network marketing is too hard, my rebuttal shall be, it’s not hard if you can do the 3 things I have written above.  It’s not hard finding people interested in the opportunity, especially when the national unemployment rate is so high.  It’s not hard finding customers as my company provides an necessary and effective way to connect with people.  And, it’s not hard to teach people how to do what you’re doing.  Keep it simple!

So, here’s to your success, and it’s as easy as what you see below:

Another important part of my journey, if not the most important, is my spiritual relationship with the Lord.  Yesterday I kept getting the message “Trust the Lord” while meditating on where the Lord has me and what He wants from me during this journey.

As I’ve stated many times already, mindset is crucial, but I want to throw in the fact that having your spiritual life together helps as well.  We are spiritual beings, and our lives need balance in the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical aspects of who we are.  You can be mentally healthy all you want, but if you don’t have a balance of mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health then your body and mind won’t click on all cylinders.

Think about it, our bodies are like finely tuned machines, the most sophisticated and complex machines or creations on the planet and possibly in the universe.  We are miraculously put together.  I’m going to use this simple metaphor to help illustrate my point:  Our bodies are like expensive cars with intricate and sophisticated technology and power.  If you focus only on improving the engine of the car and never improve or repair any other part of the car, even the finest machine will break down and become dysfunctional.  Just the same with our bodies, if you focus only on the mental aspect of your life, you are neglecting the other parts of your life that need fine tuning just as much!

My point is this, if you want to be free (My purpose is to “Set People Free”), it’s going to take not only a willingness to change your mental attitude but all of the different aspects of who you are.  My spiritual life is crucial to me, the most important thing I have going.  The Lord gives peace and hope to man who’s lives are just a blip on the radar of history.  We are here in an instant and we’re gone.

Trust the Lord!  That’s what I’ll do.
